I Have an Illness?! How did this happen…

Hey! I have some news for you and they’re kinda news for me as well. I have gotten a diagnosis

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension

It’s completely unrelated to my arm and the struggles I’ve had surrounding this – the reason I left my gorgeous princess in UK and went to Norway is still unknown.

What is Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH)

It basically means that the fluid surrounding your spinal cord and head builds up and creates to much pressure in your head.

Reasons, symptoms and treatments varies hugely from person to person. It’s as rare as 0.9 per 100.000 people who gets “IIH”. But it is mostly seen in fertile women who is overweight.

How Did We Notice This?

I went to my yearly check up to the optician – I was gonna swap one of my glasses out. She measures the pressure in my eyes and takes pictures – then we do the normal eye test. In the end she says she sees swelling on my eyes called pappiledema and wants to send me for further tests at the eye doctor. I go there straight away for more tests and she then sends me further to the neurological department at the big hospital nearby. There I stay for 6 days.

I by this time did not know at all what was wrong and was very scared! I didn’t understand how a normal check-up at optician could end up here at the neurological department. I kept thinking what on earth is wrong with me.

I eventually got a room(first 4 hours of the first night I lived in the aisle) and got a shower. Much appreciated! I have to say my family here was very supportive and caring – I was almost never alone ❤️

I came in on a Friday and got told if they didn’t get to do the tests during the weekend then Monday was the day. Monday came and I then got told that patience is a vertue and that I should just wait cus I wasn’t prioritised. I asked for permission to go and take my MRI’s and x-ray for Wednesday and got NO as an answer. This really took me by surprise and I wanted to leave. I tried to ask what was wrong but still no answer. Dad comes and we decide to have a word and explain the situation further and was then given the ok to go.

I was waiting for a head and spinal cord MRI at Kalnes (the hospital I was admitted to) and a lumbar puncture. I got the MRI on Tuesday and they tried and failed to do the lumbar puncture on Wednesday. All they managed to do was to create a lot of pain.

My back was not happy!

On Thursday they were gonna try again – this time with an ultrasound machine. They struggled for 30 minutes I think and couldn’t find where to stick the needle, eventually I get asked to sit up, he finally finds the right place, gets the needle in, fairly smoothly without to much pain. Then to my and the assistent nurse BIG SURPRISE I get asked to lay back down, with the needle stuck in my back. This somewhat freaked me out!! I then layed there as they measured the pressure and drained out some of the cerebrospinal fluid to help lower the pressure in my head, before he removes the needle, puts a plaster on and tells me to drink cola or coffee and rest for a while. Later that day I get sent home. With the diagnosis

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension

I have googled and googled but it’s not so nice. It can lead to nastyness I’d rather not have or think about. I’m now on medication, this is day 3, unfortunately it brings a lot of side effects which of course I am experiencing – I mean I’m not really on a lucky roll here so I wasn’t expecting it to suddenly turn now….. But I am home & I am feeling ok! 8 pills a day when I’m on full medication, ugh!

All we can do now is to keep our fingers crossed that my body responds to the medication and weight loss and that the illness doesn’t progress further!

I got the most gorgeous picture sent to me of princess today ;

Gosh I miss her ❤️ I miss her so much!

It’s not been a very nice week, it’s been a lot of thoughts, questions and fears. And there isn’t really a lot of answers yet unfortunately. But I’m hoping that the pictures I’ve done privately with my doctor will show something regards the arm so I gets some answers there. Nest meeting regarding the IIH is 8th of April.

What brings peace to my mind is that I know Danza is getting the best care and that the support system I have in the UK too is absolutely amazing, I am truly blessed and so greatful!

I want to thank all of my followers too who is taking part of this journey with me and apologies it’s a complete disaster at the moment! But hopefully you can follow me on the journey back to what I love the most. Being around my beautiful horses!

Thank you ❤️

Trying something new!

Hey

How are we all doing?? I am feeling a little better – my headaches are definitely less! Such a relief, they really knackered me out!

I’m trying really hard to figure out what to blog about but in fear of producing something bad – I have kinda “shut down”

But that has made me think!

Do I always have to produce really big and deep blog posts?

The same with my other social media accounts.

So – two weeks ago I decided to try something new.

#TinyTipTuesday

Where I share a little quote or a little word of advice with a very short caption;

You can click on the photos to read the captions

And I really like it. It makes me feel useful but without feeling guilty I’m not at my best at the moment!

I was thinking about doing a little something on my YouTube

#TranslationThursday

Where I either talk about words and try to simplify what they mean – or give you translations between English-Swedish-Norwegian

I would love to hear your thoughts on that!

Is My Birthday – Meet my two new fury friends 😍

🎊Today is my birthday 🎉

And as you might know Cyril sadly passed away 💔

You can see a little good bye video by clicking here❤️

So for my birthday Heather said “Come on – let’s go to the pet shop” “I saw how much you loved and cared for your Squirrel and I want to give you something else little and fury to care about” Now!! How lovely is that?! And with that said not only one – the fury little animal I wanted lives better as pairs! Double trouble!

We bought everything necessary for now – I am already looking out for a bigger home for the two little ones!

Are you ready to meet them?

I haven’t figured out what to call them yet!!

Excuse my not so good pictures!It is two male Gerbils! It was so close between these two and another two females! But this one;

Stole my little heart! Heather calls him Brad!! “He is so beautiful! He is the Gerbils answer for Brad Pitt”

Haha she makes me crack up!! But well he is handsome! And cute!

And there they are!! Aren’t they lovely?

What else I will do on my birthday is unclear! I will babysit, walk my pownie and eat nice food! So I suppose not bad at all really!!

A sisterly timehop – Meet my lilsis Sandra

Hey everyone! I’m gonna start with telling you a little bit about myself. I’m Anne-Charlotte’s sister, we have the same mother, and I’m 6,5 years younger than her. Oh and my name is Sandra. I live in Sweden and just finished a bartender-course in Mallorca, so now I’m a bartender and looking for a job somewhere in the world. So hit me up if you need a bartender somewhere 😉

So, let’s talk about me and Ancha. We like singing, writing and horses (though my sister’s horse-interest has always been much bigger) and we’ve always had very good grades in school. Still, me and my sister has always been very different.

It might have looked like we had the perfect childhood, but that isn’t the full truth. We had to grow up way too fast and I think that ruined our relationship. We fought a lot and always blamed the other person when we got in trouble. I think that is one of the main reasons why our relationship is a bit hurt.

I sometimes wish that we had a better relationship, a closer bond. And sometimes I think that it’s too late, and that we’re too different. And that what we have today is enough. Maybe someday in the future, we will be closer.

But, instead of talking about the difficult things about being kids, I will tell you about some of the fun we had together. We could sit and play will dolls and barbies for hours and during the summers we would play in the pool until our skin was like raisins. We sang karaoke, with Swedish Schlager and danced to pop-music on my wii.

Last time I saw my sister was in February this year, and that was when I visited her in London. We lived at a nice hotel and ate a lot of good food. I would say that food is both mine and my sister’s biggest interest. Though she is a bit more fussy than I am.

So, if you wanna charm either of us – FOOD is always the answer!

Before the photoshoot – clothes, make-up and tack!

I created a poll on my Instagram where my followers could vote if they wanted to have a like before behind the scenes of a photoshoot I had with the amazing Elizabeth ❤️

They could vote for blog or vlog, neither or both. And they voted for both!

So I thought I would share what I wore, what I did with my hair & how I prepared Danza on here. Then make a make up vlog with some top tips for your next photoshoot!

What am I wearing;

Top is from Quiz I really love this shop as it has clothes for all different shapes and it is not very expensive.

I am wearing black high-waisted jeans – hides a multitude of sins!! Which are from American Eagle

My shoes are from Schuh and they’re on sale!! (Omg I’m so jealous right now!) link to the shoes – they’re beautiful and really comfortable!

Danza is wearing her Micklem bridle I bought her second hand.

Make-up;

I am not great with make-up it has to be said! So it is very simple. If you want to know what I used – you’ll have to check out the vlog.

I will say this though! I bought a new foundation from No7 and I absolutely love it. Here is a link to it. Cheap, easy and variable- so cool!

I wore my hair natural as didn’t have time to curl it – which was my original plan.

Grooming

So I don’t have any fancy brushes i just use a curry comb and body brush first. I then take a sponge or a cloth dip it in water and slide over to get even more dust out the coat(black horse is like a magnet for dust) before finishing it off with show shine. Mane and tail gets a brush through with main and tail tetangler.

And we are now ready to go!

Hope you enjoyed this little one even though it is a bit different from my normal blogs!

Spoiled @ weekend training!

We are continuing our practice for the dressage test. We need to film it this week (sent in by 10pm on Sunday 26th)

I haven’t even tried to ride the different parts together, I feel soooooo behind. Never mind.

On a good note, Linda from Dare to Dream Dressage has been here since Thursday, she is Heather’s niece. She is a dressage rider & trainer aaaaand trainee judge. So she had loads of good tips to help us from a judge’s point of view for our test riding – how great hey! So very much appreciated! So good to get other people’s opinions and tips too, it really is so so helpful!

She also rode Danza and Mat whilst she was here. I have some of it on my vlog which you can watch by clicking here. And will share some pictures of her riding Mat in another post. Unfortunately they’re not great as it’s starting to get darker and I still haven’t managed to buy a better lense for my camera – one day!

It has been so much fun having her over again!

Hope it’s not so long til next time!
